Gun-Toting Football Player

Football Players are now carrying guns, and I'm not talking about the ones on there arms.

Wide receiver Plaxico Burress arrived at the New York club LQ, after midnight, with a concealed weapon and a concealed weapons permit for Florida that expired in May. He also brought along wads of cash and loads of jewelry. Apparently Burress realized he had money that needed protecting, but failed to realize he needed protection from himself.

He shot himself in the leg while trying to unload the gun outside of the club. Yep, that's right, he shot HIMSELF in the leg. Apparently his days of being a "gangster" didn't teach him much on proper gun use. He had already been expected to miss an upcoming game against the Washington Redskins due to a hamstring injury, but apparently one game just isn't enough.

Luckily his injuries were not fatal or too damaging. He is expected to receive a full recovery.

  2. ... and also that his hat has "NY" on it, which is also wrong.

Came here from "Are We Lumberjacks?", read this post, and will note: I am a novice gun owner (one rifle, yet unfired, a Ruger 10-22) with eyes on handgun ownership someday. I have read the safety manuals, and these are the CALIFORNIA safety manuals, the ind that start out "Gun safety is important!!1!"

That said, as yet a person who has never fired a gun or rifle yet, I DO NOT THINK I COULD ACCIDENTALLY SHOOT MYSELF IN THE LEG WITHOUT MAKING AT LEAST 3 ELEMENTARY ERRORS IN GUN SAFETY PROTOCOL.

    Am I correct?

  3. Oh yes! One would have to try to shoot himself in the leg. It's pathetic.
